Exclusive Interview of the Day: Stanislav Smirnov

Stanislav Smirnov is a research mathematician whose career has included two perfect scores at the IMO, as well as a Fields Medal for his work on percolation processes and on the Ising model. Originally from St Petersburg, he has been awarded numerous accolades for his work, including the Salem Prize and the Clay Research Award. His research areas are in complex and geometric analysis, dynamical systems (in particular complex dynamics), and in probability theory.
